An international aircraft leasing company, Avolon, is offering two Indian painters to work at Dublin in Ireland. The move is aimed at encouraging emerging artists in India. According to the company, the two chosen painters will be given their own studio, an apartment in the heart of Dublin along with a monthly stipend.
The artists will be give the opportunity to showcase their final work which should adhere to the theme of ‘Humanity’. The final exhibition of their work will be displayed in an open studio. It will also help them experience Ireland’s vibrant art and culture climate. Ireland holds a historical legacy in the field of fine arts, with a rich emphasis on portrait paintings. In the last two years, artists from Mexico and Iran were given the opportunity to enjoy the scholarship and art programme in Dublin. Jinoos, an artist from Iran, said,
“Something has changed in me forever. The AGSA residency at the RHA (Royal Hibernian Academy) gave me the time to work on a number of projects and to develop new skills while exploring Dublin. The AGSA offers artists the opportunity to restart and reinvent themselves.”
