Bihar Assembly Election Result 2025 Updates: The National Democratic Alliance remains firmly ahead as counting enters its final stages, with the latest Election Commission of India data at 6 pm showing the BJP winning 35 seats and leading in 55, while the JD(U) has won 24 and is ahead in 59. Together, the alliance is approaching the 175-seat mark, signalling a commanding mandate for Nitish Kumar and the BJP–JD(U) coalition.
The Mahagathbandhan continues to struggle. The RJD has won 6 seats and is leading in 20, while Congress has managed only one win and leads in five, marking one of its weakest performances in the state. Tejashwi Yadav’s hold over traditional strongholds has visibly weakened, with the party trailing the NDA across key districts.
Among NDA allies, LJP(R) has won 2 seats and is leading in 17, while HAM(S) has won 1 and leads in 4. AIMIM has delivered a notable performance with 4 wins and 1 lead, and the Rashtriya Lok Morcha leads in 4 constituencies. CPI(ML) has 1 win and 2 leads, while CPI(M) and BSP are ahead in one seat each.
The trends reaffirm the NDA’s dominance, driven by Nitish Kumar’s governance pitch, the BJP’s organisational strength, and voter consolidation across women, EBCs, and rural blocs. Meanwhile, Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj initiative has made limited electoral impact despite visibility on the ground.
Bihar voted in two phases on 6 and 11 November, recording one of its highest ever turnouts.

This year’s election also marks a stark contrast to Bihar’s turbulent electoral history. Past polls witnessed high violence - 63 deaths in 1985, 87 in 1990, multiple postponements in 1995 and repolling in more than 600 booths in 2005. In comparison, the 2025 elections recorded zero repolling and no major violence. The NDA has highlighted this as proof of improved law and order under Nitish Kumar’s administration. ECI trends mirror a decade-long pattern of Bihar backing the BJP–JD(U) alliance in national and state elections.
14 Nov 2025, 2:08 PM (IST)
Celebrations have begun at the BJP’s Patna office as counting trends show the saffron party emerging as the single-largest force in Bihar. Prime Minister Modi’s decision to address party workers underscores the significance of this emerging mandate. The BJP’s 90-seat lead, backed by strong JD(U) gains, signals a clear consolidation of voter sentiment. The NDA attributes its performance to a decade of policy continuity, welfare schemes and improved rural governance across Bihar.
14 Nov 2025, 1:55 PM (IST)
The NDA’s surge has reshaped the political landscape, with early leads suggesting a historic mandate. The BJP–JD(U) partnership, reunited after several political shifts, appears to have regained full voter confidence. The coalition has campaigned on welfare delivery, infrastructure expansion, administrative stability and cultural pride. The numbers indicate that the people of Bihar have reinforced their trust in Nitish Kumar’s governance model and PM Modi’s national leadership. The NDA is currently poised to surpass its 2010 benchmark of 206 seats.

Bihar Election Results 2025 Live Updates: Dasvi baar Nitish Kumar?
Nitish Kumar, Bihar’s longest-serving Chief Minister, has once again demonstrated his political resilience. Known as ‘Sushasan Babu’, he is credited with transforming Bihar’s governance model through infrastructure expansion, improved policing, and social welfare programmes. His focus on rural development and inclusive growth continues to resonate with voters across caste and community lines.
His political journey - from an engineering graduate to a nine-time Chief Minister, remains a study in adaptability. Influenced by leaders such as Jayaprakash Narayan, Lohia, Karpuri Thakur and VP Singh, he rose through the JP movement and built a career rooted in administrative reform and coalition negotiation.
Nitish’s enduring popularity, despite criticism over alliance switches, reflects his ability to retain voter trust during changing political landscapes. His collaboration with Prime Minister Modi once again emerges as the central force behind the NDA’s sweeping performance.
