Marking scheme and eligibility for JEE Advanced
JEE Main papers include both MCQs (Section A) and numerical-type questions (Section B), with negative marking applicable to both. Four marks are awarded for each correct answer and one mark deducted for each incorrect one. Unattempted questions receive no marks.
As per the NTA's marking policy, if multiple answers are correct, candidates get full marks for selecting any correct option. If all options are correct or if a question is dropped, all test-takers are awarded full marks—regardless of whether they attempted the question.
The top 2.5 lakh performers in JEE Main 2025 will now be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2025, the gateway to prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
Earlier, JEE Main 2025 Session 1 was held in January, with 12.5 lakh registrations and a 95.93 per cent attendance rate. Fourteen candidates scored a perfect 100 in that session.
