Cabinet may approve replacing BS-IV trucks and buses with electric vehicles

Union Cabinet is expected to approve a scheme to replace BS-IV buses and trucks in Delhi-NCR with BS-VI commercial electric vehicles. The scheme may launch by October-November this year, according to sources familiar with the development with Zee Business.

BS-VI, E-buses, and trucks are likely to get loans at lower interest rates.

The government plans to replace all such vehicles over the next five years. The scheme is named Safar.
