<p>Since March 23, around 8.9 lakh 5-kg Free Trade LPG cylinders have been sold, reflecting increased demand from migrant workers and low-income households. Notably, over 1.1 lakh 5-kg cylinders were sold on April 7 alone, significantly higher than the February daily average of 77,000.</p>
<p>To ease pressure, authorities have increased the interval between LPG bookings to 25 days in urban areas and 45 days in rural regions, while also promoting alternatives like PNG and electric cooking.</p>

<p>Additionally, about 171.90 million tonnes of coal are available across mines, transit routes and ports. The government said production continues to match consumption, supported by logistics from Indian Railways.</p>
<p>State-run companies have absorbed rising input costs without passing them on to consumers. E-auctions have been expanded to boost supply, with 32.53 million tonnes offered in March, of which about 40.94 per cent was booked.</p>

<p>Refineries are operating at high capacity, and domestic LPG production has been ramped up to meet rising demand.</p>
