PM Kisan 17th Instalment News Latest: Prime Minister Narendra Modi cleared the payment of the 17th instalment of the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme on Monday, the first day of his return to office for a record third straight term. The move is estimated to benefit around 9.3 crore farmers in the form of the scheme's 17th instalment, worth Rs 20,000 crore. The PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme is a government initiative aimed at providing income support to small and marginal farmers that provides financial support of Rs 6,000 per year to eligible families in three equal installments of Rs 2,000 each directly deposited into their bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) route.

The move to authorise the disbursal of the 17th instalment of the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme assumes significance as it is the first file signed by the PM in his third term.

"Ours is a government fully committed to Kisan Kalyan. It is therefore fitting that the first file signed on taking charge is related to farmer welfare," the Prime Minister said.

"We want to keep working even more for the farmers and the agriculture sector in the times to come," PM Modi said.
