IMD Monsoon Update 2024: Monsoon rains in the country were 8 per cent above their long-period average (LPA), as of September 30, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Monday. The country's weather office also said that the best rainfall in the 2024 monsoon season was recorded from June to September.

Additionally, the levels of precipitation during the monsoon season this year were the highest recorded in four years, according to the IMD.
