The oil minister said that IEW 2026 reflects the country’s commitment to balancing energy security, economic growth and sustainability.

Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said on Friday that the India Energy Week (IEW) platform will focus on strengthening energy security, catalysing investment and advancing practical decarbonisation pathways. He was referring to the IEW 2026, set to be organised in Goa later this month. The event is set to bring together global energy ministers, industry leaders, policymakers, financial institutions, academia and technology providers. Describing IEW as the first major international energy event of the year, Puri said the week has expanded significantly year-on-year since its inception. He was addressing a curtain raiser press conference for the event.

The minister said that IEW will be structured around 10 strategic themes reflecting global priorities and the country's evolving leadership role, stating that the conference will feature four ministerial sessions, including the inaugural session bringing together energy ministers and senior policymakers, along with 47 leadership and spotlight panel discussions involving global industry leaders and experts. Five rounds of "energy talks" will be held as one-on-one conversations with senior global energy leaders at the event, focusing on technology, markets and sustainability.

The event will also serve as a platform for concrete business outcomes, noted the minister. These will include:
