The central government on Tuesday launched the sale of commodities such as arhar, moong and chana pulses at subsidised rates under the brand Bharat. It also directed retailers to ensure the availability of Bharat brand pulses at their outlets.
The government monitors the prices of essential food commodities and intervenes from time to time to ensure the sufficient availability of such items at a fair price.
