Budget 2026-27 Speech: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Sunday announced a massive Rs 12.2 lakh crore capital expenditure for infrastructure development. That marks the highest-ever capital expenditure so far.
The Union finance minister also announced plans to create 20 waterways over the next five years.
The government will also establish an 'infrastructure risk guarantee' fund, added the finance minister.
