Budget 2025 showcases policy continuity & new expansion of Viksit Bharat vision: PM Narendra Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Saturday that the Union Budget 2025 showcases continuity in policies and a new expansion of his government’s ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India) vision. Addressing a post-Budget webinar on ‘Agriculture and Rural Prosperity’, organised by the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, PM Modi acknowledged the valuable inputs and suggestions from all stakeholders before the Budget.

These inputs were “very helpful”, said the Prime Minister.

The PM also stressed that stakeholders’ role has become even more crucial in making Budget 2025 more effective.

The webinar comprised deliberations on 10 thematic sessions focusing on various aspects related to agricultural and rural developments in light of Budget 2025 announcements. 

Here are five key takeaways from what the PM said at the webinar:

• PM Modi urged stakeholders to suggest ways to make ongoing schemes more effective and implement this year's Budget in a speedy manner on the ground level.
• "Now this budget needs to be implemented more effectively on the ground," said the PM. 
• Agriculture is considered as the first engine of growth and the government is moving ahead with the target of achieving agricultural growth and rural prosperity, he said.
• He also highlighted the need to enhance production of pulses to reduce the country's dependence on imports, and also asked private sector to focus on high-yielding crop seeds.
• The government has presented a full budget in the third term, ensuring consistency in policy and reflecting the vision of Viksit Bharat.

Urging everyone to discuss how to make the ongoing schemes more effective, the PM  expressed confidence that positive results will be achieved with their suggestions and contributions.

The Prime Minister also said that active participation from everyone will empower villages and enrich rural families.

He exuded confidence that the webinar will help ensure swift implementation of the schemes of Budget 2025.

PM Modi also urged all the stakeholders involved to work in unison to achieve the targets laid out in Budget.
