Noida International Airport To Commence From June: Noida International Airport (NAI) is all set to start passenger flights from next month. A release issued on Friday, May 1, announced that commercial flight operations at the airport will begin on Monday, June 15. This will open a new door for passengers, airlines, and cargo operators in the National Capital Region and northern India.
The commencement of services follows the inauguration of the airport by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the receipt of approval for the Airport Security Programme (ASP) from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security, which confirms that the airport's security infrastructure, systems and operational procedures are in place in accordance with regulatory requirements prior to the launch of commercial services.
According to the NIA statement, the first flight to depart from Noida International Airport will be operated by IndiGo, marking the start of regular passenger services. Akasa Air and Air India Express will also begin flying shortly thereafter.
However, the NAI has not yet shared any detailed information regarding the schedule, destinations and passenger services. It said this information will be shared at an appropriate time.
Noida International Airport is a combination of modern terminal infrastructure, efficient operations and strong multimodal connectivity. It is developed to meet the growing demand for air travel.
The airport has been designed to provide smooth travel to passengers as well as support airlines with reliable and cost-effective operations, the release said.

The company, a 100 per cent subsidiary of Zurich Airport International AG, is responsible for the implementation of the public-private partnership project in close partnership with the Government of Uttar Pradesh and the Government of India.
As per the release, the concession period for Noida International Airport commenced on October 1, 2021, and will run for 40 years. The airport features one runway and one passenger terminal with a capacity to serve 12 million passengers annually.
The airport's master plan provides for further development over the duration of the concession to serve over 70 million passengers annually.
