Previous Bomb Threats Targeting IndiGo

Earlier this month, another IndiGo flight received a bomb threat. A flight from Kuwait to Hyderabad was diverted to Mumbai on Tuesday after an email warned of a bomb on board. The message allegedly sent to Hyderabad airport authorities claimed that an explosive device had been planted on the plane. As per security procedures, the airport launched an emergency response, deploying security units, bomb disposal teams and fire personnel before the plane arrived for a precautionary landing.

Addressing the emergency, an IndiGo spokesperson said, “A security threat was received for IndiGo flight 6E1234 operating from Kuwait to Hyderabad on December 2, 2025, due to which the aircraft was diverted to Mumbai. Following the established protocol, we informed the relevant authorities immediately and fully cooperated with them in carrying out the necessary security checks before the aircraft was cleared for operations."

Cancellations and delays have severely impacted IndiGo's operations at several airports, reflecting the severe crew shortage problem.
