<p>The Delhi Airport, SpiceJet Airlines, and IndiGo have all issued alerts regarding travel and flight operations due to the very heavy fog and extremely bad weather that affects the whole area of Delhi and a large part of northern India.</p>
<h2><strong>Zero visibility disrupts air traffic</strong></h2>
<p>Dense fog has significantly decreased the visibility to almost zero in and around the national capital, which has resulted in flight cancellations, delays, and diversions.</p>

<p>The information released by the Delhi Airport authorities states that 78 flights are cancelation in the coming hours and further 70, which are scheduled to depart, will be canceled too. Moreover, only two flights that were heading towards Delhi have been rerouted because the visibility is so low.</p>
<p>Airport officials confirmed that the fog has been there since around 6 o'clock in the morning, thereby creating a condition of slow flight movements.</p>
<p>The air traffic controllers are using very slow procedures to make sure the aircrafts with low visibility and the entire floor with passengers are safe.</p>
<p>The airport staff are available on standby in all the terminals to help each and every one who is having trouble and to keep the situation under control.</p>

<p>SpiceJet Airlines, on the other hand, made travelers aware of the situation and issued a series of travel advisories to that effect.</p>
<p>The advisory was sent out at 9:44 am where SpiceJet said that because of the bad weather in Shivamogga (RQY), all flights (arrivals and departures) and those connecting to them may be affected. Hence, the airline suggested the passengers check the status of their flights often through the portal of the respective company.</p>
<p>Earlier, at 5:44 am, SpiceJet reported poor weather conditions in Ayodhya (AYJ) and stated that this may affect the flight operations. The airline suggested the passengers be observant about their flight schedule and plan their journeys accordingly.</p>
