The government announced that Wings India 2026, which will become Asia's largest civil aviation event, will establish a major global aviation presence through its extensive international participation and dedicated operational strategies.

Hyderabad to host Asia’s largest Civil Aviation event

The event, which will take place from January 28 to January 31 at Begumpet Airport in Hyderabad, will feature Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu who will officially open the event together with high-ranking officials from India and other countries.

Massive Scale: Exhibitions, delegates and aircraft displays

The event will display more than 150 exhibits, attract 7,500 business visitors and 100,000 general visitors, and host more than 200 international delegates who will participate in 500 business-to-business and business-to-government meetings while there will be 31 aircraft displays.

The Wings India 2026 event will demonstrate how India's aviation industry has developed into a major force that drives economic expansion and regional advancement and international connectivity.

The civil aviation industry in India has experienced its most significant growth period during the past ten years.

India emerges as world’s second largest aircraft market

India has become one of the world's leading aviation markets because its passenger numbers have increased multiple times while Indian airlines have added hundreds of new planes and made their biggest aircraft purchases which make India the second largest upcoming aircraft market.

The airport system has developed quickly because new greenfield airports have been built and existing terminals have been upgraded and new regional links have been established through the main programs which include the UDAN initiative.

Sustainability, MRO and advanced mobility shape the future

The ministry reported that India is developing into a major center for aircraft maintenance repair and overhaul services pilot training aerospace manufacturing cargo logistics and advanced air mobility operations, IANS reported.

The aviation industry is moving towards sustainability through its initiatives which include Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and green airport operations and advanced air traffic control technology.

The 'Wings India 2026' event will gather policymakers together with global executives and investors and innovators and airlines and airports and manufacturing and repair organizations and leasing companies and technology providers and training institutions and startups which makes it one of the largest aviation platforms on Earth.

The following companies have confirmed their participation in the event: Airbus Boeing Embraer HAL Dassault Bell Textron ATR Pilatus De Havilland RTX Rolls-Royce United Aircraft Corporation and CSIR-NAL and GMR and Adani and Noida International Airport and Etihad Airways and Thai Airways and Air India and IndiGo and Akasa Air.

The ministry expects global CEOs from leading airlines and airports and OEMs to attend the event which demonstrates India's increasing importance as a strategic partner in international aviation.
