Budget 2025: What is PM Dhan-Dhaanya Scheme? Aim to benefit 1.7 crore farmers; Check eligibility, benefits, and all details

Prime Minister Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana - developing agri districts programme is a scheme announced in the Union Budget 2025-26. It aims to benefit around 1.7 crore farmers by making farming more sustainable and profitable for farmers. 

Motivated by the success of the aspirational districts programme, the government will undertake a ‘Prime Minister Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana’ in partnership with states. Through the convergence of existing schemes and specialised measures, the programme will cover 100 districts with low productivity, moderate crop intensity, and below-average credit parameters. 

To enhance agricultural productivity To adopt crop diversification and sustainable agriculture practices To increase post-harvest storage at the panchayat and block level

To improve irrigation facilities To facilitate the availability of long-term and short-term credit

Agricultural seeds Agricultural implements Technical Assistance Financial Assistance

Agricultural seeds: High-quality seeds will be provided to the farmers to increase production. Free Fertilizers: Fertilisers to be supplied to increase agricultural yield. Agricultural implements: Subsidy for agricultural implements like tractors, pump sets, etc. to small farmers.

Technical Assistance: Training imparted on new technologies and the use of agricultural implements. Financial Assistance: Loans or other financial assistance to farmers so that they can improve their agricultural operations.

The programme will focus on rural women, young farmers, rural youth, marginal and small farmers, and landless families.

PM Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana will cover 100 districts with low productivity, moderate crop intensity, and below-average credit parameters. 

This programme is likely to help 1.7 crore farmers.
