Wheat procurement for the Rabi marketing season 2025-26 will begin in Uttar Pradesh from March 17 and continue till June 15. The government has set the Minimum Support Price (MSP) at Rs 2,425 per quintal, which is Rs 150 higher than last year’s rate of Rs 2,275 per quintal.
Wheat will be procured at 6,500 purchase centers across the state. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to ensure that farmers receive their payments within 48 hours. Mobile centers will also be deployed to buy wheat directly from farmers in their villages to make the process more convenient.
The registration for wheat sale began on March 1, and over 2.65 lakh farmers have already registered. Farmers must register or renew their registration on the Food and Civil Supplies Department portal (fcs.up.gov.in) or the UP Kisan Mitra mobile app to sell their wheat. Sharecropper farmers are also eligible to register and sell their produce this year.
According to the Food and Civil Supplies Department, wheat procurement will take place from 8 AM to 8 PM daily, except on Sundays and public holidays, till June 15. The government has set up a toll-free helpline (18001800150) to address any issues faced by farmers. They can also contact the District Food Marketing Officer, Tehsil Marketing Officer, or Block Marketing Officer for assistance.
The wheat procurement process will be handled by eight purchasing agencies, with payments made through the Public Financial Management System (PFMS). Farmers will receive payments directly into their Aadhaar-linked bank accounts within 48 hours.
