PM-Kisan 21st Instalment: The 21st instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme has been released today, September 26, by Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan via video conferencing.
The instalment has been prioritised for farmers in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, and Uttarakhand, who were recently affected by severe floods and landslides. Officials including state Agriculture Ministers, MPs, MLAs, and representatives of farmer groups from the three states also joined the virtual event.
The release comes at a crucial time, following widespread crop losses in the region that have caused significant hardship for farming families. More than Rs 540 crore has been directly transferred to the bank accounts of over 27 lakh farmers, including around 2.7 lakh women farmers, across the three states.
Addressing the virtual gathering, Chouhan emphasised the government’s commitment to supporting farmers. “This instalment of Rs 2,000 will help farmers meet immediate household needs, procure seeds and fertilisers for the next sowing cycle, and restore confidence to resume cultivation,” he said.
He added that the instalment serves as a reassurance that the government cares for every farmer and no one will be left behind in their struggle against natural adversities. Since the launch of PM-KISAN on February 24, 2019, cumulative disbursements to Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, and Uttarakhand have crossed Rs. 13,626 crore.
