The meeting included senior officials from the Ministry of Agriculture who were led by Union Agriculture Secretary Devesh Chaturvedi and who worked alongside NAFED and NCCF representatives.

Financial burden on centre acknowledged

Shivraj Singh Chouhan through an Agriculture Ministry statement admitted that Tur procurement would create a financial burden on the Central Government.

The prime minister's government continues to support farmer welfare despite existing challenges according to his clear statement.

Government focus on market price stability

The government prioritizes farmer support because he explained that market prices drop during certain periods, ANI reported.

The Union Minister stressed that procurement operations need to follow appropriate procedures because they hold critical importance.

MSP benefits to reach genuine farmers

The direct farmer purchase system needs to be implemented because it helps eliminate middleman involvement according to him.

The direct farmer crop purchases will create a system which provides MSP benefits to actual farmers because they need protection from intermediary control.

NAFED and NCCF must establish close operational ties with Maharashtra state government according to Chouhan who wants to ensure only authentic farmers receive procurement benefits. He instructed officials to create complete process visibility through modern technological solutions.

Digital registration to prevent fraud

The project focused on developing effective digital systems which would enable accurate farmer identification while eliminating duplication and fraud risks.

Expanding procurement centres for farmer convenience

The Union Minister instructed officials to establish additional procurement centers because farmers need this support.

The measure guarantees farmers will not have to travel extended distances while experiencing no delays when they sell their crops.

Farmers will experience less trouble because they can reach procurement centers more easily which creates a system that benefits them.

Strengthening transparency and monitoring mechanisms

Chouhan emphasized the necessity of continuous monitoring because it helps organizations achieve efficient operations and public display of their procurement activities. He stated that all organizations involved need to maintain responsibility while they work to resolve farmers' problems.

The government demonstrated its commitment to improving procurement systems through its support of farmers which it expressed in the meeting's final declaration.

The Maharashtra Tur procurement program aims to provide immediate financial assistance to farmers through joint actions between Central and State governments while restoring public trust in government procurement procedures.
