Watch Netflix for Rs 65: Online entertainment provider testing new mobile-only plans - Check details
Netflix is now testing a weekly plan of Rs 65, about a month after the launch of Rs 250 monthly plan.
To go deeper into the Indian market, online entertainment content service provider Netflix is testing cheaper plans in the country. The company is now testing a weekly plan of Rs 65 for mobile. These are mobile-only plans and being tested, hence not available to all subscribers. Netflix's mobile-only plans are, however, not available to all. These are still in beta version at the moment. The plans, which are under Rs 500, are mobile-only plans.
A Netflix spokesperson said, "We are always looking for ways to make Netflix more enjoyable and accessible. We will be testing different options in select countries where members can, for example, watch Netflix on their mobile device for a lower price and subscribe in shorter increments of time. Not everyone will see these options and we may never roll out these specific plans beyond the tests.”
Netflix further said that the mobile-only plan is only a test. It is not the rollout of a new plan. The currently applicable Netflix plans are:
1. Basic (Rs. 500) - SD (standard definition) and you can stream simultaneously on 1 device
2. Standard (Rs 650) HD (high definition) and you can stream simultaneously on 2 devices;
3. Premium (Rs 800) Ultra HD (high definition) and you can stream simultaneously on four devices.
