SIAM does not seek deferment of BS-IV norms
SIAM rejects request to urge government to defer the BS-IV emission norms on April 1.
The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) has rejected the request of some automobile manufacturers pleading it to urge the government for an extension of Bharat Stage IV (BS IV) emission norms deadline.
SIAM President Vinod Dasari on Wednesday said that they are not seeking a deferment of BS-IV emission rules.

Bajaj Auto's MD Rajiv Bajaj had criticised the move my some automakers seeking deferment and had asked SIAM to exclude Bajaj Auto from the letter that was being sent to the government for the extension of the BS-IV deadline.
Bajaj Auto had adhered to the BS-IV norms and had all its bikes in compliance way before the deadline, it said.
Many other two-wheeler and car manufactures like Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai and others are BS-IV ready.
