SBI Card: Here are 10 key things about SBI Card Unnati

SBI Card had earlier this year launched SBI Card Unnati wherein it has waived off Rs 499 on the subscription of this credit card for the first four years and users have to pay the renewal fee of Rs 499 only from the fifth year of its subscription.

Highlights:

1. SBI Card had launched SBI Card Unnati credit card in March 2017 

2. It has waived off Rs 499 on subscription of SBI Card Unnati for the first four years

3. The renewal fee of Rs 499  starts from the fifth year of the card's subscription 

With an aim to achieve the government's vision of Digital India and make the country as cashless economy, State Bank of India's (SBI) credit card company SBI Card had launched SBI Card Unnati in March this year. 

SBI Card's latest credit product is cost-effective and within the reach of middle class consumers in the country.

What's the USP of this SBI Card Unnati is that you can subscribe for its service with zero annual fee for the first four years. 

Essentially, the SBI Card company has waived off Rs 499 on subscription of SBI Card Unnati for the first four years and the renewal fee of Rs 499 starts from the fifth year onwards. 

SBI Card chief executive officer Vijay Jasuja with SBI chairman Arundhati Bhattacharya had launched the SBI Card Unnati in presence of Union Minister of State for Power, Coal, New and Renewable Energy Piyush Goyal  in March this year, Zeebiz.com reported.

According to the SBI Card website, customers have to pay no annual fee for the first four years of subscription to SBI Card Unnati.

The card is issued with a lien on cardholder's fixed deposit with State Bank of India (SBI) of Rs 25,000 or more, cited the website. 

Here are 10 key things about SBI Card Unnati: 

1. Fees: 

a) Customers will have to pay the renewal fee of Rs 499 from the fifth year of SBI Card Unnati's subscription  

b) There is no add-on fee for adding names of your relatives or family members to SBI Card Unnati 

2. Extended Credit: 

a) It offers 20 to 50 days interest free credit period which is applicable only on retail purchases and if previous months’ outstanding balance is paid

b) In terms of finance charges, the services charges up to 2.50% per month which accounts to 30.0% per annum from the transaction

c) Under the minimum amount due, it Offers 5% of total outstanding (minimum Rs 200 + all applicable taxes + EMI (in case of EMI based product) + overlimit amount (if any)

3.Cash Advance Limit: 

a) It offers up to 80% of credit limit with a maximum of Rs 12,000 per day

b) It charges up to 2.50% per month on withdrawal of cash, accounting to 30.0% per annum from the date of withdrawal

4.Cash Advance Fee: 

a) In SBI ATMs or othe bank ATMs, the card charges 2.5% of transaction amount, subject to a minimum of Rs 300

b) On international ATMs, it charges 3% of transaction amount, subject to a minimum of Rs 300

5. Other Charges: 

a) SBI Card charges Rs 90 for cheque pick up for SBI Card Unnati 

b) For Payment Dishonor fee, It charges 2% of the payment amount, subject to a minimum of Rs 350

C) It charges Rs 100 per statement which is two or more months old for retrieval of statement for SBI Card Unnati 

D) It charges Rs 225 per retrieval of slip for SBI Card Unnati

6. Late Payment: 

a) For the total amount due from Rs 0 to Rs 200 on your SBI Card Unnati, the SBI Card does not charge you anything 

b) For the total amount due greater than Rs 200 to up to Rs 500, it charges Rs 100 

c) For the total amount due greater than Rs 500 and up to Rs 1,000, it charges Rs 400 

d) For the total amount due greater than Rs 1,000 and up to Rs 10,000, the credit card company charges Rs 500

e) For the total amount due greater than Rs 10,000, it charges Rs 750 

7. Overlimit: 

SBI Card offers 2.5% of overlimit amount subject to a minimum of Rs 500 on SBI Card Unnati

8. Card Replacement: 

It charges Rs 100 for replacement of SBI Card Unnati 

9. Emergency Card Replacement:

When you are travelling overseas, the SBI Card charges an actual cost with a minimum of $175 (nearly Rs 11,312)  for emergency replacement of SBI Card Unnati 

10. Rewards Redemption Fee: 

SBI Card has rewards redemption fee of Rs 99 on SBI Card Unnati 

Coming to rewards offered by SBI Card on the SBI Card Unnati subscription, its members get one reward point per Rs 100 spent on the credit card.

Besides, members get Rs 500 cashback on spends of Rs 50,000 or more in a year on the card.

SBI Card Unnati members get 1% fuel surcharge waiver for each transaction between Rs 500 and Rs 3,000 (exclusive of GST, wherever applicable, & all other charges) on usage of SBI Card Unnati.
