Rafael, Centum Electronics sign pact to enhance intelligence capabilities for Indian Armed Forces
Both companies said their partnership expands the ongoing collaboration between them in the electronic warfare (EW) domain and contributes to India’s 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' (self-reliant India) initiative.

Rafael Advanced Defense Systems Ltd—also known as Rafael—and Centum Electronics on Tuesday announced the signing of a teaming agreement (TA) to collaborate on advancing the fields of spectrum dominance, spectrum situational awareness, and AI-based Intelligence suite or decision support systems for the Indian Armed Forces. Both companies said that their partnership expands their ongoing collaborations in the domain of electronic warfare (EW) and contributes to the Indian government’s 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' (self-reliant India) initiative.
“We are honoured to expand our partnership with Centum Electronics," said Yoav Tourgeman, CEO of Rafael.
"This agreement reflects our continued commitment to supporting India’s defense ecosystem with state-of-the-art technology while fostering local capabilities in alignment with the Atmanirbhar Bharat vision, in close cooperation with our partners at Centum," said Tourgeman.
“Signing this teaming agreement with Rafael marks a significant milestone in our journey to enhance India’s defence capabilities. Our collaboration not only strengthens our position in the domain but also reinforces our commitment to delivering innovative solutions that support India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative," said Apparao Mallavarapu, Chairman and Managing Director of Centum Electronics.
"We look forward to leveraging our collective expertise to develop advanced technologies that enhance the operational effectiveness of the Indian Armed Forces," added Mallavarapu.
In a separate development, Rafael Advanced Defense Systems announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Bharat Dynamics Ltd (BDL) and to establish the Indian production of the Ice Breaker, a 5th-generation long-range autonomous precision-guided weapon system.
As part of the deal, Rafael and BDL will collaborate to produce the Ice Breaker at the Indian comapny's advanced facilities. The weapon system will be offered to the Indian armed forces.
Both companies said that their partnership aligns with the government’s 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' (self-reliance India) initiative, emphasising the indigenous manufacturing and transfer of critical technologies.
