E-commerce giant Amazon has now ventured into the flight booking sphere with Cleartrip. Amazon users can now book their next domestic or international flight through the Amazon Pay dashboard, the official Amazon website or Amazon mobile application. Additionally, Amazon is also giving out several offers attached to the flight ticket purchases. So to say, buy your next trip's ticket as well as other necessities from the same platform.
To grab the consumer's attention, Amazon is endorsing lowest cancellation fees, several cashback offers, rewards on its flight booking service. On its website, Amazon mentions flat Rs 400 cashback on flight purchases below Rs 8000, Rs 800 for flight tickets amounting between Rs 8,000 to Rs 19,999 and Rs 1,600 for tickets priced Rs 20,000 and above.
The Prime members avail better cashback as one can get flat Rs 800 on flight ticket purchase up to Rs 8,000 and Rs 1,200 for flight tickets price between Rs 8,000 to Rs 19,999. Meanwhile the prime member can get Rs 2,000 cashback on flight tickets priced above Rs 20,000. The cashback is credited to the account of the user in a span of three working days, in the form of Amazon Pay balance.
Individuals who make partial or complete cancellation of tickets do not benefit from the cashback offer.
It is to be noted that the offer lasts only till May 31, 2019. Moreover, Amazon acts as only the flight booking platform, post which Cleartrip will handle the post ticket support to the customers.
Amazon has upgraded its Amazon Pay to suit the needs of the people by including features such as DTH, bill payments and mobile recharge. However, this new added service will pose as a competition to rival payment applications such as Google Pay and Paytm, which have already incorporated the flight booking system in their services.
