In a bid to compete with Reliance Jio GigaFiber, state-run telco, BSNL has introduced Rs 99 plan. This is BSNL's new broadband plan is being offered with daily data limits. Reliance Jio is giving steep competition to other telecom operators with its heavy data, freebies and unlimited voice calls at dirt-cheap rate. BSNL has likely kept the speed at 20mbps along with an after FUP speed of 1mbps respectively. However, the Rs 99 plan offers the least benefit while the Rs 399 plan will offer the highest FUP limit a month.
BSNL has now unveiled four new Fibre-to-Home plans that are priced at Rs 99, Rs 199, Rs 229 and Rs 399, and offer up to 600GB of data benefit for a month and unlimited voice calls, as per DNA report.
RJio last month went live with its Gigafiber launch by allowing registration for the optical fibre based fixed-line broadband service through which it has claimed to offer download speed of one gigabit per second.
This is not first-time BSNL has introduced something to take on RJio’s fiber plan. In the July month, way before Jio Gigafiber could go live, the company revised its premium fiber broadband plans and is now providing high-speed internet alongside free calling.

The BSNL’s FTTH broadband plans that have gone under revision are Fibro Combo ULD 3999, Fibro Combo ULD 5999, Fibro Combo ULD 9999 & Fibro Combo ULD 16999.
In a recent development, BSNL unveiled the country's first internet telephony service that will allow users to dial any telephone number in India through its mobile app. Now, BSNL customers will be able to make calls using the company's mobile app "Wings" to any phone number in the country. Earlier, phone calls on mobile apps were only possible by users of a particular app and not on telephone numbers.
