Jio impact: Now Airtel offers unlimited calls, 84GB data at Rs 399
- Bharti Airtel's latest offer competes with Jio's Rs 399 scheme.
- Airtel was offering 84 GB exclusively to new customers last month.
- Jio is now offering cashback on its prepaid recharges.
After Reliance Jio revised its Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan offer last month, India’s largest telecom operator, Airtel has now begun offering 84GB to prepaid customers for Rs 399.
As per the company’s website, Airtel will offer unlimited local and STD calls to prepaid customers along with 1GB data per day for 84 days on 4G handsets and 4G SIM cards only.
This plan competes with Jio’s Rs 399 plan.
Airtel had last month introduced another plans specifically for its new subscribers – Rs 293 and Rs 499. Both plans offered customers 84GB data at 4G speed however those opting for the Rs 499 plan will also get unlimited local and STD calls to all numbers in addition to free data.
Now the company has thrown the offer open to all subscribers.
Jio Rs 399
For Jio’s Rs 399 plan, prepaid customers will be given 84GB data for 84 days, with a fair usage policy of 1GB per day. Jio has said that calling on its network will always be free.
In addition to this, Jio is also offering cashbacks on its recharge via Flipkart’s PhonePe.
On Wednesday, PhonePe tweeted out, “Thanks for the overwhelming response to the @reliancejio recharge offer. You can now recharge for your loved ones & get more cashbacks!”
PhonePe in association with Jio is offering customers Rs 75 cashback on first prepaid recharges and Rs 50 and Rs 25 cashback on the second and third recharges respectively.
However the company has specified that a minimum transaction amount of Rs 300 was required to avail of the recharge.

This would essentially bring down the price of Jio’s Rs 309 recharge and higher, if customers avail cashback options.
