Apple has launched the new iPhone 17e, offering many of the core features found in the flagship iPhone 17 models at a budget-friendly price. The new series starts at $599 globally and Rs 64,900 in India and will be available from March 11. The new device delivers strong performance, durability and advanced camera features, while keeping the price affordable for users, says Apple.
The iPhone 17e features an aluminium frame and front protection, which uses Ceramic Shield 2 technology. Apple states that the upgraded glass delivers three times better scratch protection than the iPhone 16e.
The iPhone 17e features a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display with high-quality images and vibrant colours. The display also features a seven-layer anti-reflective coating, decreasing glare in direct sunlight.
Key durability features:
The iPhone 17e's main highlight is its A19 chip, the newest chip processor that powers the entire iPhone 17 series. The chip enables faster performance, smoother multitasking and improved efficiency.
The device even operates AAA games while providing smooth 4K streaming, backing even the most demanding applications.
Apple claims the iPhone 17e offers long battery life with up to 26 hours of video playback. The device supports fast charging through its USB-C port and it enables wireless charging through MagSafe at 15W, which provides a charging speed that exceeds the 7.5W rate of the iPhone 16e. MagSafe magnets enable users to attach accessories through simple connection methods, which include cases and chargers.
The iPhone 17e includes a 48MP Fusion camera, which combines the capabilities of two cameras into one system. The device enables users to capture high-resolution photos and record 4K videos while it provides a 2x optical-quality zoom for close-up photography.
