HDFC Bank Q4 Results: Net profit rises 6.7% YoY to Rs 17,616 crore; NII up 10.3% to Rs 32,070 crore

HDFC Bank, the country’s largest private sector lender, posted a 6.7 per cent year-on-year rise in standalone net profit to Rs 17,616 crore for the fourth quarter of FY25.
The bank’s net interest income (NII) for the quarter rose 10.3 per cent YoY to Rs 32,070 crore. Net revenue for the January-March period stood at Rs 44,090 crore, compared to Rs 47,240 crore in the year-ago period.
HDFC Bank’s board has recommended a dividend of Rs 22 per equity share of face value Rs 1 for FY25. The record date for the dividend is Friday, June 27, 2025.
Asset quality improves sequentially
The gross non-performing asset (GNPA) ratio improved to 1.33 per cent as of March 31, 2025, from 1.42 per cent in the December 2024 quarter. However, it was higher than 1.24 per cent reported in the same period last year. Net NPAs stood at 0.43 per cent, slightly down from 0.46 per cent in Q3FY25 but higher than 0.33 per cent a year ago.

Other financials
Other income (non-interest revenue) came in at Rs 12,030 crore, with fee and commission income at Rs 8,530 crore, compared to Rs 7,990 crore in the same quarter last year. Provisions and contingencies fell sharply to Rs 3,190 crore in Q4FY25 from Rs 13,510 crore a year ago, which had included floating provisions of Rs 10,900 crore.
Average deposits grew 15.8 per cent YoY to Rs 25.28 lakh crore, while average CASA deposits rose 5.7 per cent to Rs 8.29 lakh crore. Gross advances stood at Rs 26.43 lakh crore as of March 31, 2025, up 5.4 per cent YoY, with overseas advances making up 1.7 per cent of the total.
The bank’s Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) improved to 19.6 per cent from 18.8 per cent a year ago.
Shares of HDFC Bank ended 1.5 per cent higher at Rs 1,906.55 on the BSE in the previous trading session.
