Civil aviation regulator DGCA on Wednesday announced the establishment of a special panel to monitor the daily operations of the crisis-hit private sector airline IndiGo. In a communication addressed to IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers and COO Isidre Porqueras, the regulator mentioned eight members in the 'oversight team', which will monitor the airline's activities regularly. The team will closely track a range of the carrier's daily operations, including cancellations, refunds, crew availability, fleet size, flights, on-time performance (OTP) and compensation compliance.

Two members from the main, eight-member team, according to DGCA, will be deployed at the airline's corporate office in Gurugram, keeping tabs on 12 types of activities, as summarised below:

The team will monitor the airline's operations closely and submit reports at 6 pm daily until all the issues in the ongoing crisis are addressed. The daily reports will be sent to the airline's CEO and COO and to DGCA Joint Director General Jai Prakash Pandey.
A copy of the order was also sent to all concerned officers, joint director generals, the economic adviser and the Chief Flight Operations Inspector (CFOI).
