- BSNL has introduced Sixer 666 plan for its prepaid subscribers.
- The plan aims to counter Jio's Rs 509 plan under Dhan Dhana Dhan which will end soon.
- Sixer 666 plan has a validity of 60 days.
After launching its ‘Chauka 444’ plan and ‘Triple Ace’ Rs 333 offer, the State-run telecom operator, BSNL has continued its play on numbers and subsequently increased the price of its new plan - ‘Sixer 666’ for its subscribers.
As the name suggests, BSNL’s new plan is for Rs 666 and has been introduced at a time when Reliance Jio’s Summer Surprise and Dhan Dhana Dhan offer are nearing its close.
Like its successors, BSNL is offering 120 GB of data and unlimited calls for a period of 60 days, a report by NDTV said on Sunday.
This is a prepaid plan for both voice and data benefits which offers unlimited voice calls to any network and 2GB data per day at 3G speed under this plan.
BSNL’s Sixer 666 plan is similar to rival Reliance Jio’s Rs 509 plan that offered unlimited local and STD calling 168 GB at 4G data speed on the first recharge and only 56GB on its second recharge for a period of 84 and 28 days respectively.
Besides its Chauka 444 that offered 360GB bundled data at Rs 444 and its Triple Ace plan for Rs 333, BSNL had offered special combo vouchers worth Rs 786 and Rs 599 for its pre-paid mobile customers on Eid-ul-fitr.
Analysts said the increase in competitive pricing in the industry will lead to rising debt levels and negative cash flows from the industry.
“ICRA estimates the FY2018 revenue and EBITDA to decline by 6% and 28% respectively,” Harsh Jagnani, Sector Head & Vice President – Corporate Ratings, ICRA said on in a report.
