Auto Sales Data June 2026: Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Hyundai Motor India, M&M among others in focus

Auto sales data June 2026: Automakers reported a mixed set of June 2026 sales numbers on Wednesday. While Mahindra & Mahindra, Ola Electric, Ashok Leyland and Eicher Motors reported numbers ahead of Zee Business estimates, Hyundai Motor India fell short. Maruti Suzuki, Hero MotoCorp and Escorts Kubota delivered sales largely in line with estimates.

The monthly sales data will be closely watched by investors as it offers an early indication of demand trends across passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, tractors and electric two-wheelers.

Mahindra & Mahindra beats estimates

Mahindra & Mahindra reported a 37 per cent rise in total sales, including exports, to 1,06,207 units in June, compared with 77,742 units in the same month last year.

Domestic SUV sales increased 28 per cent year-on-year to 60,393 units from 47,306 units a year ago. Commercial vehicle domestic sales also remained strong, rising 35 per cent to 26,076 units.

The company also reported tractor sales of 59,935 units in June, up 12.3 per cent from 53,392 units a year earlier.

Both the auto and tractor businesses performed better than Zee Business estimates of around 1.01 lakh vehicles and 58,370 tractors, respectively.

Maruti Suzuki sales broadly in line

Maruti Suzuki reported total sales of around 2 lakh units in June, up 19 per cent from 1.68 lakh units in the corresponding month last year.

The performance was broadly in line with the Zee Business estimate of 2.04 lakh units.

Hyundai misses expectations after production disruption

Hyundai Motor India reported total sales of 51,335 units in June, down 15.7 per cent from 60,924 units a year ago. The numbers were below the Zee Business estimate of 57,170 units.

The company said it lost production of around 13,900 units after a fire at one of its manufacturing facilities temporarily disrupted production during the month.

Ola Electric extends recovery

Ola Electric continued to show improving sales momentum.

The company reported 16,144 electric two-wheeler registrations in June, its highest monthly tally in recent quarters. Total registrations for the April-June quarter stood at 43,719 units, up sharply from 22,252 units in the January-March quarter.

June also marked the second consecutive month in which the company crossed 15,000 vehicle registrations, supported by stronger retail execution and improved product availability. The performance was better than Zee Business estimates.

Hero MotoCorp, Ashok Leyland and Eicher Motors

Hero MotoCorp reported total sales of 5.41 lakh units in June, compared with 5.54 lakh units a year earlier, a decline of 2 per cent. The numbers were largely in line with the Zee Business estimate of 5.53 lakh units.

Ashok Leyland reported total sales of 19,194 units in June, up 25 per cent from 15,333 units a year ago. The figure was higher than the Zee Business estimate of 16,590 units.

Eicher Motors reported VECV sales of 9,519 units, up 29 per cent year-on-year from 7,363 units. The performance exceeded the Zee Business estimate of 7,990 units.

Escorts Kubota reports steady tractor growth

Escorts Kubota sold 13,695 tractors in June, up 19.1 per cent from 11,498 units in the year-ago period. The numbers were broadly in line with the Zee Business estimate of 13,365 units.

Kia India reports record June

Kia India reported its highest-ever June wholesale sales of 24,552 units, up 19 per cent from 20,625 units a year earlier. The automaker also posted record first-half sales of 1,63,749 units in January-June 2026, marking a 15.2 per cent increase from 1,42,139 units in the year-ago period. The company attributed the growth to sustained demand for the new Seltos and its diversified internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicle portfolio.
