Tesla Model Y L launched in India: Tesla has introduced the long wheelbase (LWB) version of its premium SUV, the Tesla Model Y L, in India on Wednesday, April 22. Priced starting from Rs 61.99 lakh, it becomes the company’s second electric car offering in the country. Deliveries are set to begin from June 2026.
For the first time, the Model Y L comes with a 6-seater configuration. The three-row layout is aimed at family buyers, with captain seats in the second row adding to overall comfort and cabin space.
The SUV gets ventilation, heating, and one-touch folding functions in the second row. At the back, the third row offers power recline along with climate control. Boot capacity goes up to 2539 litres, making it suitable for longer trips and larger luggage needs.
Tesla claims a range of up to 681 km on a full charge. The Model Y L can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 5 seconds. It also features adaptive suspension, which is expected to improve ride comfort across conditions.
Inside, the SUV is equipped with an 18-speaker Tesla audio system. It also supports live traffic updates, satellite maps, and in-car streaming. Apps such as Spotify, YouTube, and Netflix are accessible through the system.
Tesla has set up experience centres in Mumbai, Delhi, and Gurugram as part of its India expansion. A monthly payment option starting at Rs 49,000 is also being offered.
