Battery options and driving range

The 40 kWh variant delivers an estimated real-world C75 range of around 355 km, with an ARAI-certified (P1+P2) range of 468 km. The 30 kWh version offers an estimated real-world range of 260–275 km.

TATA.ev said the larger battery pack is designed to make the Punch.ev suitable not just for daily city use but also for short intercity travel, thereby reducing range anxiety for first-time EV buyers.

Fast charging and battery warranty

The company highlighted enhanced fast-charging capability, stating that the battery can charge from 20 per cent to 80 per cent in 26 minutes using a DC fast charger. It can also add up to 135 km of real-world range in just 15 minutes.

To further strengthen buyer confidence, the 40 kWh variant comes with a lifetime high-voltage (HV) battery warranty covering unlimited kilometres, while the 30 kWh version offers an 8-year warranty extendable by two years.

Expanding charging network

TATA.ev said its charging network now covers over 2.3 lakh charging points across 1,500 cities through home, community and public charging partnerships. It has aggregated more than 30,000 public chargers in collaboration with over 30 charge point operators.

The company also operates over 450 superfast charging points across 130+ mega charging hubs on 80 highways, with plans to expand to 800 charging points by FY26.

Market positioning and vision

According to TATA.ev, the Punch.ev has already seen strong acceptance among both EV adopters and conventional car buyers, including a significant number of first-time car owners. With the facelift, the company aims to push electric mobility deeper into the mass market by offering near price parity with internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles in the entry-level segment.

The company described the new Punch.ev as a step 'Beyond Limits', built on three pillars — Electric Beyond Limits, Premium Comfort Beyond Limits, and Next-Gen Tech Beyond Limits—reinforcing its ambition to scale EV adoption across India.
