Skoda Kamiq is here - All you need to know about the company's smallest SUV
The first set of images and details of the SUV Kamiq has been released by Skoda. This is the car-maker's smallest SUV and this has been released ahead of the car's public debut at the upcoming 2019 Geneva motor show.

This is the car-maker's smallest SUV and this has been released ahead of the car's public debut at the upcoming 2019 Geneva motor show. Skoda's Kamiq is based on the Vision X concept and the India specific model of the car is likely to go for sale in 2020. Kamiq's design has been inspired by both Karoq and Kodiaq in order to keep the family resemblence. However, the SUV also gets some other distinctive features like the upright grille and an optional narrow LED running units. The Skoda badge has been placed at the boot of the car in letters instead of the car-maker's logo.
The new Kamiq SUV is built on VW group's MQB AO platform and is 4,241mm long with 2,651 mm wheelbase. According to Skoda, the extension of the wheelbase allows in maximising the interior space. 400 litres is the boot capacity of the SUV.
The SUV comes with two 1.0 litre turbo petrol options, 95hp and 115hp and the 1.5 TSI turbo petrol comes with 150hp. The diesel variant of the SUV comes with 1.6 TDI with 115hp. The carmaker will also offer a CNG version of the SUV in some of the international market.
6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic will be the gearbox options that Skoda will offer. Skoda will only offer Kamiq in front-wheel-drive format. It will also be available in an optional Sport Chassis Control. Kamiq bears a resemblance to Skoda Scala and also comes with an optional 9.2 inch free-standing infotainment touchscreen.
