SIAM releases automobiles sales October data; production up 36 pct yoy; PV sales up over 14 pct; Check complete details here!

Industry body Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) has released the October 2020 data for passenger vehicles, three wheelers, two wheelers and quadricycle. Check details here!

According to the SIAM data the total production of Passenger Vehicles, three-wheelers, two-wheelers and quadricycle in the month of October 2020 was 2,830,153 units, as against 2,086,479 units in October’19, witnessing a growth of 35.64 per cent. #SIAMData #BTNR

1. Sales of Passenger Vehicles witnessed an increase of 14.19 per cent in October 2020, as compared to October 2019.
2. The total exports of Two-wheelers grew by 25.64 per cent in October 2020, as compared to October 2019.
3. Total exports of Passenger Vehicles and Three-wheelers witnessed a decrease of 19.18 per cent and 5.31 per cent respectively in October 2020, as compared to October 2019.
4. Sales of Two-wheelers grew by 16.88 per cent in October 2020, as compared to October 2019.
5. Three-wheelers saw a dip in sales by 60.91 per cent in October 2020, as compared to October 2019.
6. Sales of Vans grew by 29.24 per cent in October 2020, as compared to October 2019.
7. A growth of 9.68 per cent has been registered in the sales of Passenger Cars in October 2020, as compared to October 2019.

The industry produced a total 26,362,282 vehicles including Passenger Vehicles, Commercial Vehicles, Three Wheelers, Two Wheelers and Quadricycles in April-March 2019-20 as against 30,914,874 in FY 2019, registering a de-growth of (-) 14.73 percent over the same period last year.

The sale of Passenger Vehicles declined by (-) 17.88 percent in April-March 2019-20 over the same period last year. Within the Passenger Vehicles, the sales of Passenger Cars and Vans declined by (-) 23.58, percent and (-) 39.23 percent respectively while sales of Utility Vehicles marginally increased by 0.48 percent in April-March 2020 over the same period last year.
