Ola Electric starts same-day registration, delivery service

Bengaluru-based Ola Electric today (April 3) announced the same-day registration and delivery service of vehicles. 

“Pilot of #HyperDelivery has started in Bangalore, and would gradually be scaled up across India during this quarter in a phased manner,” the firm said in a statement.

Customers can now complete their purchase online or at an Ola Electric Store and ride home on their fully registered vehicles in just hours, it added.

"We have significantly cut the processing time of registering the vehicles through AI-led automation and by moving the registration process completely in-house.

"With this we are ensuring a much smoother purchase experience for our customers, eliminating tedious purchase processes and longer delivery timelines," an Ola Electric spokesperson said.

Maharashtra transport department cracks down on Ola Electric

Last month, the Maharashtra Transport Department took action against Ola Electric Mobility Limited for alleged violations related to trade certificates. The enforcement was based on a complaint filed by Pritpal Singh and Associates.

According to Section 39 of the Central Motor Vehicle Act, 1988, and Rule 33 of the Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989, it is mandatory to obtain a trade certificate for the sale and registration of vehicles. The authorities found that Ola Electric was engaged in vehicle sales without the necessary certification, a punishable offense under the law. Read more

Before that, Ola Electric Mobility said its wholly-owned subsidiary has received a letter from IFCI for missing out on targets specified under the Production Linked Incentive Advanced Chemistry Cell scheme (PLI ACC). 

As per the government sources, the company did not meet production and investment-related criteria specified under in PLI ACC scheme. Read more

Meanwhile, shares of Ola Electric Mobility closed at Rs 54.06 each, down 0.04 per cent on BSE today, April 3.
