JSW MG Motor India has introduced the 2025 model year update for the Comet EV, keeping the starting price unchanged at Rs 7 lakh. However, the cost of higher variants has been revised, with buyers now paying up to Rs 10,000 more for outright purchase and up to Rs 27,000 more under the battery subscription model.
New pricing & bookings
Bookings for the updated Comet EV are now open, with a booking amount set at Rs 11,000.
Key feature upgrades
The 2025 update primarily focuses on feature enhancements. The mid-spec Excite and Excite Fast Charge (FC) trims now come equipped with a reverse camera and power-folding ORVMs, features that were previously limited to the top-end Exclusive and Exclusive FC trims. Additionally, the infotainment display on mid-spec variants now shows charging information, a feature earlier reserved for the top variant.
For the Exclusive trims, MG has upgraded the audio system from two speakers to four and introduced leatherette seats for a more premium feel. Meanwhile, the ‘100-Year’ special edition has been discontinued.
Powertrain & battery update
Mechanically, the Comet EV remains largely unchanged. The standard model retains its 17.3 kWh battery pack, while the FC variants now get a 17.4 kWh unit. Despite this slight change, the range remains at 230 km. Charging options continue to include 3.3 kW AC charging as standard, while FC variants support faster 7.2 kW AC charging.
With these updates, the MG Comet EV aims to enhance value while keeping its compact city-friendly appeal intact.
