MG Comet Blackstorm Edition launched in India: Price, booking, other key things you need to know

MG Comet Blackstorm Edition launched: MG Motor India has launched the highly anticipated Comet Blackstorm Edition in India on Wednesday, February 26. This new edition, which is a special version of the popular MG Comet EV, aims to elevate the electric vehicle experience with a bold black theme and enhanced features. 

The ex-showroom price of this Comet Blackstorm is Rs 7.80 lakh, with an additional battery rental of Rs 2.5/km.

The MG Comet EV, known for its compact design and impressive range, has been gaining traction in the Indian market. The Blackstorm edition, which will be the top variant of the Comet, boasts a striking black color scheme, setting it apart from the standard models.

Key things to know about the newly launched MG Comet Blackstorm Edition:

- Battery Pack: The Blackstorm edition is equipped with a 17.4 kWh battery pack, offering a claimed range of 230 km on a single charge.
  
- Audio System: The edition comes with a four-speaker setup, enhancing the in-car entertainment experience for passengers.

- Pricing: The standard MG Comet has an introductory price of Rs 5 lakh (ex-showroom), along with the battery rental of Rs 2.5/km. The Blackstorm Edition, positioned as the top variant, is priced at Rs 7.80 lakh (ex-showroom), also with the same battery rental structure.

- Booking: Interested buyers can book the MG Comet Blackstorm Edition for a nominal amount of Rs 11,000.

In terms of growth, the MG Comet EV has seen significant momentum, registering a 29 per cent annual growth in CY'24. This highlights the growing consumer interest in electric mobility in India.
