Mercedes-Benz launches EQS 580 SUV: Mercedes-Benz has expanded its luxury portfolio in India with the launch of two premium celebration editions — the EQS SUV Celebration Edition and the Maybach GLS Celebration Edition. A key highlight of this launch is that the model will be manufactured locally at Mercedes-Benz's Chakan plant in Pune, marking a significant step in the brand's "Make in India" strategy.
With this, India has become the first country after the United States where the Maybach GLS will be manufactured locally. Earlier, the same model was sold in India as a CBU (completely built unit) at a much higher price of around Rs 4.1 crore, making the locally produced version much more accessible to Indian luxury car buyers.
