Maruti Suzuki launches electric Vitara BEV, starting price Rs 10.99 lakh

Maruti Suzuki Electric Vitara BEV Launched: Automobile manufacturer Maruti Suzuki on Tuesday, February 17, commenced deliveries of its electric vehicle – the electric Vitara BEV – in India. The starting price of this e-Vitara is Rs 10.99 lakh + battery EMI at the rate of Rs 3.99 per kilometre. Interested customers can book the electric SUV at NEXA showrooms or by visiting the NEXA website by paying a token amount of Rs 21,000.

The company claims that the electric Vitara BEV offers a driving range of over 543 kilometres on a single charge.

Launching the e-Vitara, Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, "Maruti Suzuki’s EV strategy has been developed to ensure that the e VITARA becomes the primary EV choice for customers. The e VITARA offers a commendable driving range of over 543 km, supported by ‘e for me’ charging ecosystem that mirrors the reliability our customers have trusted for decades."

Maruti Electric Vitara BEV: Key things to know

• It comes with Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) with a cutting-edge system features Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring, Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) among others.
• It comes with 7 airbags (including driver side knee airbag) as standard equipment.
• Next-gen Suzuki Connect with over 60 features.
• It has received a 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating.
• It features the HEARTECT-e platform, made from more than 60 per cent ultra-high-tensile and high-tensile steel.
• It has an advanced battery protection system for better safety.
• The e-Vitara is available with 61kWh and 49kWh battery pack options.
• The SUV is backed by an 8-year or 1 60 000 km warranty.
• The standard warranty on the vehicle is 3-years. The option of extending the warranty up to 8-years is available on a payment basis.

The company is offering a few schemes to own the electric Vitara BEV:

• BaaS (Battery-as-a-Service) is a dual-loan finance product that eliminates the upfront battery cost and makes ownership easy and affordable. The plan starts at Rs 10.99 lakh + Battery EMI @ Rs 3.99/km.

• 'e Flex’ scheme: Customers can upgrade to e-Vitara with similar EMI of their existing car, thus making electric mobility more accessible and affordable for customers.

• Assured Buyback Plan: The e-Vitara is also being offered with Assured Buyback plans

• The 3-year/45 000 km plan offers up to 60% Assured Buyback value.
• The 4-year/60 000 km plan offers a 50% Assured Buyback value.
