M&M Auto Sales: Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) reported a 15 per cent year-on-year surge in total sales to 83,702 units in February, driven by strong demand for its utility vehicles and tractors.
The automaker had sold 72,923 units in the same month last year.
In the utility vehicles segment, M&M saw a 19 per cent jump in domestic sales to 50,420 units, compared with 42,401 units in February 2024.
Exports also witnessed a significant 99 per cent increase to 3,061 units last month, up from 1,539 units in the same period last year.
According to Veejay Nakra, President of Automotive Division at M&M said this strong performance is a testament to the continued positive momentum for our SUV portfolio.
In the tractor segment, M&M reported a 17 per cent increase in total sales to 25,527 units in February, up from 21,672 units in the same month last year. Meanwhile, vehicle exports stood at 1,647 units.
Hemant Sikka, President, Farm Equipment Sector, M&M, attributed the growth to favourable weather conditions and a positive Rabi crop outlook.
"We expect tractor demand to remain buoyant, driven by factors such as increased agri credit limit, government support for farmer incomes, and a bumper Rabi harvest," he added.
