Kia India announces price hike of up to 2% across models, effective from this date

Kia Price Hike Announcement: Kia India on Thursday, June 18, announced that it is going to increase the prices of its vehicles by up to 2 per cent from next month. According to a regulatory filing, the new rates will come into effect from July 1 and apply to all models sold in the country. This price revision will impact the popular models of the company across various segments such as Seltos, Sonet, Carens, Syros, Carnival and more.

"Kia India... has announced a price revision of up to 2% across its model range, effective 1st July 2026," the company said in a release.

Reason Behind the Price Hike

In a regulatory filing, the company has attributed the decision to raise prices to the increase in input costs and operational expenses. The manufacturer aims to offset higher production costs while continuing to offer quality products and services to customers.

"The revision is necessitated by rising input costs and an overall increase in operational expenditure," it said.

Company Statement on Customer Impact

The car manufacturer has stated that it has tried to reduce the burden on customers by absorbing a significant portion of the increased costs itself.

"Kia India remains committed to offering its customers the best-in-class products and ownership experience and has endeavoured to keep the price increase to a minimum by absorbing a significant portion of the cost escalation internally," the company said.

Price Variation Across Models

According to the company, the increase will differ across products and variants.

"The extent of the price increase will vary across models and variants, ensuring that the overall value proposition of each offering is maintained," the press note added.

Auto Industry Trend: Other Automakers Also Raise Prices

The announcement comes at a time when several automakers are adjusting prices to offset rising production expenses.

Along with Kia, several other vehicle manufacturers also announced price revisions to offset rising production costs in India. These include Tata Motors, Hyundai, and Maruti Suzuki.

• Tata Motors announced that it would increase the prices of its commercial vehicles by up to 2.5 per cent, effective July 1, 2026. The company cited rising raw material prices and increased input costs as the reasons for the hike.
• Hyundai Motor India has increased the prices of all its cars effective June 1. Depending on the model and variant, prices have been hiked by up to Rs 12,800, the company stated in an exchange filing. The car manufacturer cited rising input costs, high commodity prices, and increasing operational expenses for this price revision.
• Maruti Suzuki India has also raised the prices of its vehicles. Effective from June 1, the carmaker has increased prices across its entire model range by up to Rs 30,000, citing inflationary pressures and challenging cost-related conditions as the reasons.

Hyundai Motor India has recorded its highest-ever domestic sales for the month of April, selling 51,902 units — a 17 per cent year-on-year increase. The company's exports stood at 13,708 units in April 2026.
