BMW Price Hike Announcement: BMW Group India announced on Thursday, March 19, that it will increase the prices of its vehicles from next month. This price hike, which will come into effect from April 1, will impact both the BMW and Mini brands.
The German luxury carmaker said the price hike will apply to its entire range of vehicles and is up to 2 per cent.
This announcement comes just 2 days after Tata Motors announced a price hike for its commercial vehicles. On Monday, March 16, the domestic auto manufacturer announced that it will be increasing the prices of all its commercial vehicles from next month. Effective April 1, the homegrown automobile manufacturer will increase prices by up to 1.5 per cent. However, the amount of price revision will vary depending on the model and variant of the vehicle.
The automaker has cited rising costs of raw materials and other inputs as the main reason for this price hike. In a press release, the company said the decision was taken “to offset the rising costs of raw materials and other inputs.”
The announcement comes at a time when the automobile sector is dealing with increasing cost pressures. Manufacturers across the industry have been adjusting prices to manage higher raw material and production expenses.
Last week, Mercedes-Benz India also announced that it will increase the price of its the luxury car segment from next month.
