Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z Launched: Bajaj Auto has launched an updated version of its flagship motorcycle - the Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z - in India on Thursday, April 30. With this new version, the company introduced a smaller engine and a lower price tag, while keeping its performance figures unchanged.

The new update brings a 349cc engine in place of the earlier setup. With this change, the motorcycle is now priced at Rs 1,80,092 (ex-showroom, Delhi), which is around Rs 14,000 lower than the previous Rs 1.94 lakh price.

Despite the smaller engine, the company says performance remains the same. The bike continues to deliver 40.6 PS of power and 33.2 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The engine is an updated version of the earlier KTM-derived platform, and Bajaj claims the riding feel has not been compromised.

A major reason behind the price reduction is taxation. With the 349cc engine, the bike now falls under the 18% GST slab, which leads to savings of up to ₹24,500 when combined with lower insurance and registration costs.

In terms of performance, the Pulsar NS400Z continues to be positioned as a strong option in its segment, with a claimed power-to-weight ratio of 247 PS per ton, making it suitable for both city and highway riding.

The feature list remains unchanged. The bike continues to offer four riding modes, along with features like a quickshifter, traction control, and dual-channel ABS. It also gets radial tyres and a Bluetooth-connected digital console.

Design-wise, the motorcycle retains its existing look with a muscular and sporty stance. The styling continues to target young riders with its aggressive streetfighter appearance.

The company says the update is aimed at improving value and making performance bikes more accessible. It also stated that the move strengthens the Pulsar brand while offering better pricing to customers.

With the revised engine, lower price, and unchanged performance, the updated Pulsar NS400Z continues to compete strongly in the performance motorcycle segment.
