Ampere Magnus Neo EV: Greaves Electric Mobility (GEML), the e-mobility division of Greaves Cotton Limited, has rolled out a new electric scooter in the Indian auto market: the Ampere Magnus Neo. This updated variant of the Magnus EX promises more power and improved features, as per the official release. The company claims the new scooter focuses on enhanced power, strength, safety, and cost savings.
The Magnus Neo will take center stage at Auto Expo 2025 in Delhi, starting January 17th. However, before hitting the exhibit floor, the scooter has proven its capabilities by covering over 2,000 km between Bangalore and Delhi.
On the occasion of the launch, the company’s Executive Director and CEO, Kunnakavil Vijaya Kumar, stated that "The Magnus has earned the trust and love of customers and this new generation embodies our vision of making ‘Har Gully Electric,’ driving the adoption of eco-friendly commuting to every corner of the country. Building on the success of the Magnus EX, the Magnus Neo incorporates advanced technology to offer enhanced features for everyday commuters. This new scooter is crafted to meet the changing demands of our customers while championing eco-friendly transportation options that contribute to a greener future."
The new electric scooter boasts a premium dual-tone finish and is available in five color variants: red, white, blue, gray, and glossy black.
In terms of performance, the Ampere Magnus Neo offers a top speed of 65 km/h. The scooter also delivers more torque than its predecessor. It comes equipped with durable 12-inch alloy wheels, providing enhanced stability. Additionally, the scooter comes with a battery warranty of 75,000 km or 5 years, ensuring long-term reliability.
The Ampere Magnus Neo is equipped with a lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery, along with cutting-edge technology for improved performance. It offers three riding modes, including a reverse mode. It also provides a range of up to 100 km on a single charge. One of the standout features is its portable battery, along with a USB port for convenience. The scooter takes just 5-6 hours to fully charge.
