Wipro Limited, a leading global information technology, consulting and business process services company, today announced a strategic partnership with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, India’s premier institute for research and higher education in science and engineering, to conduct advanced applied research in autonomous systems, robotics and 5G space.&nbsp; 
 
The two organisations have jointly set up the Wipro IISc Research and Innovation Network (WIRIN), a hybrid industry-academia collaboration unit, to drive idea discovery, research and innovation in technology and product design, the company said in a statement. 
 
A group of senior professors and research staff from IISc and engineers, developers, architects and researchers from the autonomous systems, robotics and 5G domains at Wipro will constitute the team at WIRIN. They will focus on research and development of cutting-edge technologies in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Visual Computing, Human Computer Interaction (HCI) and &nbsp;Vehicle-to-everything communication (V2X). The insights from the research will be leveraged by Wipro for its customers and the industry ecosystem. The Institute will benefit from advancing its research goal and capacity building besides commercialization of the research outcomes.

Xiaomi has announced that it will launch the Mi Superbass Wireless Headphones in India on July 15 - two days before the planned launch of the Redmi K20 series in the country. The launch date was confirmed by Mi India on Twitter. The headphones will be available on Amazon India and Mi.com, the tweet confirmed. "Prepare to #BreakTheWire. Because the #MiSuperbassWirelessHeadphones are almost here. Launches on 15th July, midnight, on http://mi.com&nbsp; &amp; @amazonIN," Mi India tweet posted on Wednesday read.&nbsp;

The accessory will be launched as part of company's fifth anniversary festival deals, alongside other product launches. The Mi Superbass Wireless Headphones are expected to come with 20 hours of battery life, and integrate 40mm dynamic drivers. Xiaomi is yet to confirm the price of the smartphone and will be revealed on the launch date.&nbsp;

Apart from these headphones, Xiaomi is also planning to launch a&nbsp; Mi Water TDS Tester. The Mi website also confirms that the Mi Water TDS Tester will be up for crowdfunding on July 23. It will help users check the health of drinking water, and can detect TDS of up to 9990 in a few seconds. Earlier, the page said that the crowdfunding will begin on June 23, which of course, was an error.&nbsp;

The Mi Crowdfunding site is currently only taking orders for the Mi Truck Builder Toy. The page also lists that the Chinese smartphone maker will soon introduce a Mi Rechargeable Lamp that offers three colour temperature options, a fast charger, and new neckband earphones as well.

The upcoming fast charger could be one of the two fast wall chargers Xiaomi sells in China right now – a 36W Mi USB charger or a 27W Mi USB charger. The company has already launched Mi Beard Trimmer in India as part of its 5th anniversary celebrations. The product is currently available on Amazon.in and Mi.com.&nbsp;

Xiaomi has also listed a Mi Rechargeable LED Lamp as coming soon.

SBIonline: If you have a savings account with State Bank of India (SBI), the largest lender in the country, you can avail internet banking facility, which will provide you access not only to your account but will also allow you to perform various other transactions. Those having a savings account with the SBI can now register for net banking without visiting the bank branch by registering them with the SBI website.

Earlier, it was not possible as customers willing to register for SBI net banking had to visit their nearby bank branch to submit details through physical presence. Joint account holders are not eligible to register for SBI net banking with the online registration process, and they still need to visit the bank branch.&nbsp;

If you want to register yourself with the SBI net banking portal, you need to have an active mobile number linked with the bank account and an active ATM-cum-debit card. Now follow these steps given below to register yourself.&nbsp;

1. You should first select ‘New User Activation/Registration’ on SBI website, www.onlinesbi.com, and click on ‘Ok’ to continue if you have not applied for the net banking from the bank branch.&nbsp;

2. Now select ‘New User Registration’ and click on ‘Next’ to enter requisite details including your bank account number, CIF number, registered mobile number with the bank, bank branch code, and finally click to ‘Submit’.&nbsp;

3. You will be required to select the facilities you need under the net banking.&nbsp;

4. Once you submit all the details, a one-time password (OTP) will be sent to your registered mobile number.&nbsp;

5. Click on ‘Confirm’ after entering the OTP and then select the option ‘I have my ATM card (Online registration without branch visit)’ and click on submit. Now, enter ATM-cum-debit card details, captcha code to proceed further.

6. You will receive a temporary username which you can use for creating login password. Create eight character password, according to the suggestion given there and then login with the temporary username and password to create a new username.&nbsp;

7. Now select the check-box to accept the SBI's internet banking terms and conditions and click on submit.&nbsp;

Made in India iPhone 7: Soon, you would be able to buy a 'Made in India' iPhone 7! The production of Apple's smartphone has started in Bengaluru. iPhone 7 adds to Apple's 'Made in India' portfolio featuring iPhone SE and iPhone 6s. Taiwanese industrial major Wistron is currently assembling iPhone 6S in India. News agency IANS quoted Apple as saying today, "We are proud to be producing iPhone 7 in Bengaluru for our local customers furthering our long-term commitment in India."&nbsp;

Apple had started assembling iPhone 7 last month. Last year, Wistron had announced plans to invest Rs 3,000 crore in the Narasupra industrial sector in Karnataka's Kolar district and started Apple operations with assembling low-end iPhone SE and later iPhone 6S. Wistron India head Gururaj A told the agency that the company would set up an iPhone making unit in the 43 acres of land allotted to it, with an employment potential of over 10,000 people.

According to the IANS report, the new Wistron facility will also manufacture several other Apple devices.&nbsp;

New Delhi: The Country's largest commercial bank, State bank of India has issued some guidelines to protect its customers from card skimming frauds. As credit card, debit card, ATM cards and banking frauds are on the rise, the bank has decided to work upon it. SBI has sent a mail to each of its customer, warning them to remain safe from these frauds. The lender has warned the cardholders of skimming frauds.&nbsp;

Card skimming is a crime of copying data\details of a credit, debit or ATM card illegally. The bank has changed all the old cards with the new ones, as the older ones had EMV chip, while the new cards are made with magstripe. However, it is still possible for fraudulents to commit card skimming acts.&nbsp;

The guidelines issued by SBI, to avoid card frauds:

1. Never give your SBI Card to any of your relative or friend, don't even the staff members of the&nbsp;company.

2. Make sure you hide your password, while you are in ATM or doing an online transacation.&nbsp;

3. Swipe your card, yourself.

4. Don't forget to take your card back after completing the transaction.&nbsp;

5. Do not share your passwords, PIN, OTP, CVV and net banking user ID&nbsp;or any other details with anyone.&nbsp;

In case of an unknown or fraudulent transaction in your account or you can call 24x7 SBI call centre to inform the bank. You can also write an email to customercare@sbicard.com or send an SMS “Problem” to 9212500888. Always contact the bank through their official Twitter handle,&nbsp;as it compels the bankers to take action fast. If still not resolved with the problem, please visit the nearest bank branch or your home branch asap to report the fraudulent transaction.

The bike maker has hiked prices on its famous 350-500 cc bike range by up to ₹ 1500. However, Royal Enfield has not yet announced the price hike officially, but the bike dealers are selling the new bike models at new prices from this month. The price hikes will apply to all models like the Bullet 350 and 500, Classic 350 and 500 as well as the new Himalayan. However, Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 remain will remain same at the prices.&nbsp;(all prices, ex-showroom, Delhi).&nbsp;

While no reasons specified so far, for the price hike by the company. However, an increase in factory cost could possible the reason of price hike as per some experts. The company is already planning to introduce a dual-channel ABS since August, 2018 and except the Bullet 350, all the current models are coming with the safety feature.&nbsp;

With the updated price range, now the Royal Enfield Bullet 350 will be sold at Rs 1.34 lakh, Classic 350 ABS at Rs 1.53 lakh and Classic 350 ABS at Rs 1.63 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom, Delhi).&nbsp; The Royal Enfield Himalayan ABS is available for Rs 1.80 lakh. While the Interceptor 650 continues to be sold at Rs 2.49 lakh and the Continental GT 650 is available at Rs 2.64 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom, Delhi).&nbsp;

Meanwhile, there are rumors that the company will bring a new special edition motorcycle in 2019. Expected to be called as the Trials edition, the special edition motorcycle based on the platform of Bullet 350 and 500. It was also spotted testing and is expected to be a scrambler-style version of the classic Royal Enfield bike.&nbsp;

A launch date for the new offering is yet to be confirmed, but expect the bike to arrive sometime later this year.

WaBetainfo, a fan site that tracks WhatsApp, hinted today that a large number of people are already leaving WhatsApp. "It looks everyone at WhatsApp is leaving WhatsApp before Status ads...," tweeted WhatsApp. A number of users responded to the tweet. Some of them said they have already shifted to other platforms like telegram,&nbsp;

WaBetainfo is also running a poll, asking users: "Will you continue to use WhatsApp after the activation of the Status Ads feature? Ads will appear between status updates, like Instagram. NEVER in chats."

In another tweet, WABetaInfo, said that WhatsApp business executive Neeraj Arora is the latest high-profile exit from the company after co-founders Jan and Brian.&nbsp; Reports last month suggested that the proposed introduction of ads was the reason why WhatsApp founders had left.&nbsp;

Facebook's vice president of business and marketing partnerships David Fischer had said in July this year that the company would find ways to bring ads to the app. Later in August, a WhatsApp sokesperson confirmed Tech Crunch that the app was planning to run adds inside the status tab of the app.

'Status' is the second tab seen in the WhatsApp window between the 'Chats' and 'Calls' tabs.

Whatsapp may introduce ads in the 'Status' section starting from 2019. "WhatsApp does not currently run ads in Status though this represents a future goal for us, starting in 2019. We will move slowly and carefully and provide more details before we place any Ads in Status," Tech Crunch had quoted a WhatsApp spokesperson as saying.

The proposed introduction of adds is a deviation from WhatsApp philosophy so far.&nbsp;

WABetaInfo, in a series of tweets, reported that WhatsApp was testing ads inside the ‘status’ section of the app. It is reported that this will be similar to the ads already present on Instagram’s ‘stories’ and Snapchat’s ‘discover’. The two apps keep track of your browsing data and activity, which includes your interests, things you like and the searches you make, to show you relevant content in the form of ads.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Union&nbsp;government's flagship Atal Pension Yojana (APY) has slowly, but steadily, become widely popular among workers in the unorganised sector. "More than 27 lacs new subscribers have joined the Scheme during the current financial year, i.e. 2018-19," it said.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Here are some interesting facts about the APY scheme implementation:&nbsp;

-&nbsp; States like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Karnataka are the top contributors in APY enrollment.&nbsp;

-&nbsp;Uttar Pradesh has highest number of APY subscibers (1,790,481); while Maharashtra has&nbsp; 1,000,604 subscribers and Karnataka 915,260 subscribers.&nbsp;

- Sikkim has just one transgender APY subscriber. As many as eight states and uon territories have zero transgender subscriber.&nbsp;

RRB ALP Result 2018: In a good news for over 36 lakh candidates who have appeared for the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) Assistant Loco Piliots and Technicians exam, the Indian Railways has declared the results of the CBT (ALP &amp; Technicians) exam.

The result of 1st Stage RRB ALP Technician Computer Based Test was declared on Friday.

"Based on the performance in the 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT) conducted during the period from 09.08.2018 to 04.09.2018 by Railway Recruitment Boards for the posts of Assistant Loco Pilot and Technicians against CEN 01/2018, candidates bearing the following Roll Numbers have been provisionally shortlisted to appear in the 2nd Stage Computer Based Test (CBT) as per their merit and post preferences," said railways while releasing the list of the shortlisted candidates.

The ALP CBT exam was held in the month of August and around 47.55 lakh candidates have applied for 64,371 posts. There are 27,795 vacancies for Assistant Loco Pilots and 36,576 for Technicians.

However, around 23.24 per cent candidates had skipped the exam.

"We have successfully completed 1st stage CBT for more than 47 lakh candidates, competing for 64,371 ALP &amp; Technician posts, with a record attendance of 76.76% in the history of RRBs. Applicants in previous ALP/Technician exam was about 32 lakhs and attendance was 47.47%," Railway ministry had said in a tweet.

Centre vs RBI: The Union Finance Ministry today attempted to clear the air amid reports of tension between the central bank and the Union government. Reports had also claimed that RBI governor Urjit Patel may be considering resignation after the government reportedly used its powers under Section 7 of the RBI Act.&nbsp;

Section 7 of RBI Act empowers the Centre to direct the RBI one matters of public importance. "The Central Government may from time to time give such directions to the Bank as it may, after consultation with the Governor of the Bank, consider necessary in the public interest," it says.&nbsp;
