As a further support and incentive for the farmers using the services of Kisan Rail, Ministry of Railways and Ministry of Food Processing Industries have decided that the 50% subsidy on transportation of notified fruits and vegetables (under ‘Operation Greens – TOP to Total’ scheme of MoFPI) shall be granted directly to Kisan Rail – for which MoFPI will provide necessary funds to Ministry of Railways.&nbsp;

This subsidy has become applicable of Kisan Rail trains with effect from 14.10.2020.&nbsp;

Eligible Items under subsidy:&nbsp;

Fruits- Mango, Banana, Guava, Kiwi, Litchi, Papaya, Mousambi, Orange, Kinnow, Lime, Lemon, Pineapple, Pomegranate, Jackfruit, Apple, Almond, Aonla, Passion fruit and Pear;&nbsp;

Vegetables&nbsp;- French beans, Bitter Gourd, Brinjal, Capsicum, Carrot, Cauliflower, Chillies (Green), Okra, Cucumber, Peas, Garlic, Onion, Potato and Tomato.&nbsp;

Any other fruit/vegetable can be added in future on the basis of recommendation by Ministry of Agriculture or State Government.&nbsp;

Kisan&nbsp;Rail&nbsp;ensures agro products reach from one corner to another corner of the country in a quick time by faster transportation benefitting both the farmers and the consumers.&nbsp;

Kisan&nbsp;Rail aims of&nbsp;the assurance of better price with faster &amp; cheaper transportation, providing seamless supply chain, preventing the destruction of perishable farm produce thereby opening up the scope to increase the income of farmers.&nbsp;

Status of Kisan Rail:&nbsp;

• The first Kisan Rail, ex Devlali (Nashik, Maharashtra) to Danapur (Patna, Bihar), was inaugurated on 07.08.2020 – as a weekly train. Subsequently on popular demand the train has been extended to Muzaffarpur (Bihar), and has also been made bi-weekly. In addition, link coaches – from Sangla and Pune – have also been introduced which joins this Kisan Rail at Manmad.&nbsp;

• Second Kisan Rail – from Anantapur (Andhra Pradesh) to Adarsh Nagar Delhi – was inaugurated on 09.09.2020, as a weekly train.&nbsp;

• Third Kisan Rail – from Bengaluru (Karnataka) to Hazrat Nizamuddin (Delhi) – was inaugurated on 09.09.2020, as a weekly train.&nbsp;

Kisan Rail For Farmers! Massive Govt subsidy now on offer for transportation of notified fruits, vegetables

The Uttar Pradesh government today signed the concession agreement with representatives of Zurich Airport International to commence the development of the Noida International Airport at Jewar. The concession agreement grants Zurich Airport International the licence to design, build and operate Noida International Airport for a period of forty years.

The concession agreement was signed by Dr. Arun Vir Singh, CEO, Noida International Airport Limited (NIAL) and Christoph Schnellmann, Chief Executive Officer, Noida International Airport.

Noida International Airport (Jewar Airport) will be developed as a Public Private Partnership (PPP).

The 'concession agreement' for the Greenfield airport, estimated to cost Rs 29,560 crore, was inked between the Uttar Pradesh government's agency and the Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL), a special purpose vehicle floated by the Zurich Airport for the project, they said.

Construction of Noida International Airport will support economic growth through job creation in the state, also a preferred destination for domestic as well as global investors in the upcoming years.

Daniel Bircher, Chief Executive Officer, Zurich Airport International (Asia) said, “When phase 1 development is completed in 2024, we will provide capacity for 12 mn passengers per year.”&nbsp;

Dr. Arun Vir Singh, Chief Executive Officer, Noida International Airport Limited (NIAL) said, “World-class airport will not only connect western UP region with other domestic and international destinations, but also provide additional capacity to Delhi NCR region. ”.&nbsp;

NIAL officials have earlier stated that the airport in Gautam Buddh Nagar district in western Uttar Pradesh will be spread over an area of 5,000 hectare and is billed to be the biggest in India with six runways upon completion. 
The first phase of the project will be spread over an area of 1,334 hectare and is expected to cost Rs 4,588 crore, the officials said.

In November last year, Zurich Airport International AG (ZAIA) won the contract to build and operate the airport in Greater Noida for a period of 40 years.

ZAIA received the security clearance from the Union ministry of Home Affairs to develop the Noida International Airport at Jewar in May this year.

Indian Railways Alert: In a bid to merge eight Group A services in the Indian Railways, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has nominated a six-member panel. The six-member panel will be headed by the Home Minister Amit Shah. After nomination, the Modi Government moved one step further after the cabinet approval for the same in December 2019. As per the Modi Government, the merger of eight Group A Indian Railway services will end departmentalism, promote smooth working culture and expedite decision making.

The six-member panel for the merger of eight Group A railways services will be headed by Amit Shah and the rest five members of the panel include Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, Commerce and Railway Minister Piyush Goyal, Civil Aviation and Urban Development Minister Hardeep Puri and Shipping Minister Mansukh Mandaviya.

The panel will work out modalities for the unification of the services in consultation with the DoPT (Department of Personnel and Training). The panel will put a mechanism in place ensuring fairness to all service holders. After the merger, eight Group A Indian Railway services will be called Indian Railway Management Service. Currently, the Indian Railways is organised into departments such as traffic, civil, mechanical, electrical, signal &amp; telecom, stores, personnel, and accounts. These departments are vertically separated and are each headed by a secretary-level officer (member) in the Railway Board.

The Indian Railways Group A officers are from the three services, which are recruited through the Union Public Service Commission’s civil services exam — the Indian Railway Accounts Service (IRAS), the Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) and the Indian Railway Personnel Service (IRPS). Those belonging to the technical services, although also recruited by the UPSC, appear for the Indian Engineering Services (IES) Exam.

Eight Group A railway services that will be merged are Indian Railway Traffic Service, Indian Railways Accounts Service, Indian Railways Personnel Service, Indian Railway Service of Engineers, Indian Railway Service of Signal Engineers, Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers, Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers and Indian Railway Stores Services.

With all the services having highly specialised roles and varying eligibility criteria, it remains to be seen how the government will actually implement the merger.

Government will soon tighten screws on online platforms like Amazon and Flipkart. The consumer will be the king in the new order. According to the sources, the government will be introducing stricter rules to discipline the e-commerce platforms.

The new rules are likely to protect the interests of the consumer. The new rules with regards to the online platforms will ensure that any online fraud, refund issues and complaints related to the cancellation of orders are addressed adequately and steadfastly.

According to sources in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, government has received all kinds of suggestions with respect to the regulations for the e-commerce sector. The government had invited suggestions from all stakeholders and public almost a month back.

Currently, the deliberations on regulating the e-commerce sector are on in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs. According to ministry sources the new rules will likely be implemented from the next financial year starting 1 April.

Some of the rules that could be introduced by the government as per the sources are:

-- Responsibility will be fixed for the return of the product within 48-72 hours of the cancellation

-- The e-commerce companies will have to make refund within 7 days of cancellation

-- Normal complaints from the customers to be resolved in 15 days from the complaint date. The complaint will be closed only after the customer nod

-- Serious problems need to be resolved within 30 days of the complaint

-- Customercare Number and email for complaints by e-commerce companies likely to become mandatory for every product

-- Provisions for penalising customers for false complaints could come. The penalty would be monetary in nature

-- Provisions for only genuine customer feedback and review may be introduced

Devotees of Mata Vaishno Devi in national capital will soon get a gift from the Modi government, which has decided to run premium Vande Bharat train on New Delhi-Katra route. The trial run for the country's fastest train will commence soon. The introduction of Vande Bharat, which runs at a speed of 130 km/hour, will also reduce the distance between New Delhi and Katra to merely 8 hours, according to a Zee Business TV report.&nbsp;

Currently, trains running from New Delhi to Katra railiway station takes 10-12 hours, but the proposed train will take merely 8 hours and have stoppages at Ambala, Ludhiana and Jammu Tavi stations, said the report.

According to the Railway Ministry proposal, Vande Bharat will be leaving for New Delhi from Katra station at 6 am, and reach Ambala Junction at 8.10 am where it will have a stoppage of 2 minute. The train will then arrive at Ludhiana station at 9.22 am and stop at the station for only 2 minutes. From Ludhiana, the Vande Bharat will departure at 9.24, to arrive Jammu Tawi station at 12.40 pm, and finally, it reach Katra station at 2 pm. Notably, the train will not stop at Sanehwal station.

On its return journey, Vande Bahart will leave Katra station at 3 pm and reach New Delhi at 11 pm in the night, said the report, adding that the premium train will reach Jammu at 4.18 pm, and reach Ludhiana station at 7.36 pm, Ambala at 20:56 pm. In return journey, the Vande Bharat will stop just 2 minutes at every station.

Indian Railway Ministry has given the green signal to the trial run of Vande Bharat train on Delhi Katra route, said the report, adding that General Manager, Northern Railway, will soon visit Jammu Katra Rail section for inspection.&nbsp;

Jaberal Manager TP Singh will also inspect the railway section from Ambala to Katra, to assess if the the train can run at a speed of 130 kmph or not. Notably, Delhi-Katra route comes within the purview of Northern Railway.&nbsp;

With the launch of Vande Bharat between New Delhi to Varanasi, which Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Parliamentary constituency, the success of Make in India initiative has been recognised.&nbsp;

Vande Bharat has also earned headlines in the country as well as abroad for being built in just Rs 100 crores. Emerging as a new face of Indian Railways, Vande Bharat boasts of several features including passenger amenities, security, speed, automatic door, modern design, 180 degree rotating chair car, Wi-Fi, and Infotainment.
