Nickel futures remain up on rising demand
Nickel prices advanced by 0.46 per cent to Rs 680.20 per kg in futures trade today as speculators engaged in enlarging their positions, tracking a firm trend at spot market on rising demand from consuming industries.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for delivery in October rose by Rs 3.10, or 0.46 per cent to Rs 680.20 per kg in business turnover of 322 lots.
In a similar fashion, the metal for delivery in September gained Rs 2.80, or 0.42 per cent to Rs 673.20 per kg in 1,035 lots.
Analysts said widening of positions by traders on the back of surging demand from alloy-makers in the spot market, mainly kept nickel prices higher at futures trade.
