Medium sugar recovers on fresh demand

Medium sugar recovered marginally at the Vashi wholesale market here today following fresh demand from stockists and retailers.

Meanwhile, small sugar eased owing to subdued demand from stockists and bulk consumers.

Medium sugar (M-30) edged up by Rs 4/4 per quintal to Rs 3,290/3,565 from Monday's close Rs 3,286/3,561.

However, small sugar declined by Rs 4/36 per quintal to Rs 3,186/3,335 as against Rs 3,190/3,371 yesterday.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets: Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,186/3,335 (Rs 3,190/3,371).

Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,290/3,565 (Rs 3,286/3,561).
