HDFC Mutual Fund extends their #BarniSeAzadi campaign while encoring women to be financially independent
An investor education initiative that aims to empower and support women to begin their financial independence journey

HDFC Mutual Fund, one of India’s largest Mutual Funds, has extended its #BarniSeAzadi campaign -first launched in 2021 - to promote financial independence for women. Through this campaign, the company urges women to free their money from traditional savings methods and invest in Mutual Funds (MFs), so as to give their hard-earned money a chance to grow. This campaign reiterates the importance of conscious effort to create financial awareness.
The campaign is based on the insight that Indians have always saved money in traditional instruments like Barnis, lockers, FDs etc. It drives home a strong message that Indian women should break old stereotypes, and realize that money just kept aside will never grow overtime, thereby understanding the difference between savings and investment. With women at its focus, it creates awareness regarding why there is a need to let the money grow freely in instruments like Mutual Funds.

Under this campaign, HDFC Mutual Fund has undertaken numerous activities like a radio campaign with Radio Nasha and Fever FM hosted by RJ Rohini to increase awareness on financial independence for women. Through this, the RJs initiated conversations around challenges faced by women, strategies to be pursued, how to start an investment journey, etc. HDFC MF received an encouraging turnout at their event in Dadar, Mumbai for their women's special event.
Furthermore, HDFC Mutual Fund is organising a very unique outdoor activity, wherein a gigantic barni will be installed near Bandra’s carter road through 13th to 15th August, 2022, where the company will take pledge from women to not put their money in barnis anymore and use the suitable instrument to grow their money.
HDFC MF also organised a national webinar for women and every branch of HDFC MF will be conducting at least one on ground event during this month inviting women to understand MFs and pledge BarniSeAzadi.
